Bear are unique with trichinosis. It isn't seen in the other animals. All of them can carry tapeworm but it is really rare. There is a concern with wasting disease but we don't know how it is transmitted, or if it is.
My concern with pork is how awful the industry treats them. Most pigs raised for meat live very cruel lives. They’re intelligent animals and suffer horribly. I think my pets stomach acid will kill any parasites so I don’t worry too much about pathogens
Still, can't pigs pick up other kinds of worms? They do like to consume feces. Can't any kind of animal including humans, cows, sheep, and goats pick up worms? And can't any kind of meat spoil if left out of the refrigerator for more than a few hours. Yes, please address the bacteria issue which is related to the above. Thank you.
Pigs in the production systems are not exposed to worms - that is why the meat is "clean". There are actually very few that can be transmitted between different animals - they normally get transmitted between their own. The exception is tapeworms that can infest more species.
And, yes of course it can spoil if left in the warm air. If we are feeding raw, we wouldn't let it spoil even for our pets. No sure what bacterial issue you are referring to.
You mentioned bear, but what about raw deer, elk or antelope carrying parasites or other disease?
