My mini schnauzer Samson became a severe refractory, pharmacoresistant epileptic due to the rabies vax. The clusters were brutal. We lost him a year later. The amount of meds he was on was enough to knock out a bear. Didn’t help him at all. My primary vet agreed it was due to the vax. Samsons Neurovet, never agreed. Said it was a brain tumour. He was 4 when we lost him. My 2 bulldogs had Exemptions due to health issues and an amazing vet, (who understood my concerns after my epi). Who has now retired. I have a new vet ( we moved) now for my new Cairn puppy, we’ll see how that goes. They will not be vaxxing hi…

I am so sorry to hear about Samson. I am amazed at what I am hearing here after this post. There is damage out there. Than you for posting.

We do not do vaxxing for our cats in our rescue work, except once when a frightened semiferal tried to escape the vet visit using a bite... not a crazy bite just a diversion so she could escape... the loons in the ''public heath'' dept ordered the rabies shot -- even though the state records showed NO RABIES CASES in our area for the last five years... and it was already into December so their hysteria over BATS was indisputably nonsense since all the bats were in hibernation for the winter...

LUCKILY we found out the VITAMIN C is a powerful ANTI-TOXIN... so we dosed that cat with

1000mg per pound of body weight [1/4tsp is 1000mg] right before the…

If we are giving it in cat food, we mainly use sodium ascorbate [crystals]... when we needed to dose our kiddo in the office right before the shot and right after, we used liposomal C in the office... it comes in teaspoon size sealed foil packets... more expensive and not as good a flavor in feline opinions but easier to have in hand while on the road.... hth... when we got her back home, then it was back to food and C ... we get a pure bulk supply for our rescue work, by the pound... ttyl

You can just say no. But I do have to say - you should follow all laws on that. Where I live there is no rabies vaccine requirement. Thankfully.

I have been dealing with a bad reaction to the rabies Vaccine this very week! My dog (5yo) just had a 3 year rabies shot. About 10 days later we were awoken with the dog violently scratching and skin burning red. His eyes were swelled red too. He was scratching bloody spots on himself. It was like his immune system was going in overdrive. We gave him Benadryl and an oatmeal bath. We had to take him to the emergency vet because it was going on for 2 days. No changes in food or enviromental, it was because of the vaccine. The vet who gave the shot bullied me when I expressed my concerns over the vaccine - s…

I would never, ever give a rabies vaccine for any reason. Too dangerous and not worth the risk of destroying my animals health.

If one is travelling either out of country and/or across the US border, with no choice other than to take their dog, what would you suggest to support the dog's system prior to having a rabies vaccine? Homeopathy? Supplements?
