My cat use to vomit hairballs, now he vomits grass.

And the reason he may be eating grass is because of a stomach upset. Time to review the food.

If cats are healthy, they will consume hair but it will pass out the stomach and go down. Cats that have stomach issues will vomit hairballs. We have to look at that as a symptoms of a stomach problem and not the cause of vomiting.
